Brisbane City Council Park Permits

Brisbane City Council Park Permits for Kids Parties

All city councils have a process for booking and utilising public spaces for private use also known as consent to use.

Brisbane City Council has a list of Prohibited and Restricted Activities.  This can include all sorts of activities from four wheel driving to simple bike riding. Councils have a job to keep the public safe and ensure the safety and functionality of all parks.

Brisbane City Council and Ride on Cars

Unlike jumping castles, Ride on Cars do not pose a significant risk, cause impact to the park or other park users. Ride on Cars are deemed as kids’ car toys and thus do not meet the criteria for requiring council consent for use. This means they do not require council approval for use in public parks. This obviously can change at any time, and we will update if this changes.

Ride on Cars and Kids toy cars fall under a few categories according to council:

  • E-Bikes or personal mobility devices (Prohibited)

  • Riding of e-bikes or personal mobility devices (restricted)

On the surface you would think 'well, then they must be BANNED' however, the max speed of electric or personal mobility devices allowed by council is restricted to less than 25km/hr and our Kids Ride on Cars are speed limited to 8km/hr.

The exception would be if any of the following applies to your kid’s party:

  • More than 30 People in attendance

  • Requiring off road access via locked gates
