RAWR Questions

& Answers

Is council approval required for Ride on Cars in parks?

Each council has a list of activities that require council consent for activities in their parks. Brisbane, Ipswich and Logan are our main service areas and do not require any council consent or approval for the use of our Ride on Cars. However, as we cover 11 separate council zones in South East Queensland and have weekly hire bookings. It is not feasible for us to check with council for you as rules are constantly changing. So, as a precaution we always recommend checking with your local council if you feel the need. This advice will be updated if we become aware of any issues with any councils. As of August 2024, we have had no issues with any of the 11 councils.

Can I use the Ride on Cars in an indoor hall?

It depends on the hall or facility. Some are great and we have had no issues, others are not allowing them at all. As these are private venues we cannot provide a blanket guarantee that a hall will allow them.

Some key points to know when asking a hall about using our cars:

  • Car speed can be maxed at 3km/hr.

  • Wheels are non-marking and won't damage the floor.

  • We are insured for $20 Million in public liability (certificate can be provided on request).

  • Traffic cones and barriers can be used to block off areas/walls if required.

  • We can provide a comprehensive risk assessment on request.

What is the max amount of cars I can hire?

All our Ride on Car parties are maxed at 8 cars and community events at 12 cars due to safety requirements as decided by our Risk Management Procedures and Risk Assessment outcomes. We may make an exception, but this would require us to conduct an event specific risk assessment and review at a cost to you.

Do the parents need to control the cars?

All of our Ride on Cars come with their own parental remote for use during your party. This is not always necessary and depends on the age, confidence level, and location. For kids three and under we recommend a 1:1 ratio of parents to kids with the use of remotes for safety. But you may find by the end of your party that the kids are confident and using the cars solo. So no, the parents do not need to be in constant control as the kids can operate the cars on their own, but for safety they are there to use.

Is there a bond cost or any other fees?

No, unlike every other party hire company, we do not charge a bond or cleaning fees. Our cleaning fees are built into the package price already. What you pay on our website for your package is all you pay. No hidden fees or costs. Our equipment maintenance and cleaning programs ensure everything we hire is top of the line and fit for purpose. We believe that apart from general wear and tear our equipment will not be damaged during your hire. We are strong believers in trust and know it goes both ways. You trust us for your kids special day, we trust you to look after our equipment as best as you can.
